1936 Plymouth P2 Deluxe

Plymouth P2 Deluxe . What were you doing nearly 85 years ago? Most likely, you weren't even in your father's dreams yet. But this car was being bolted together in Detroit. Even its makers would surely be surprised that this 1936 Plymouth sedan would still be going strong today. This Plymouth has been treated to a professional restoration with documentation and photos of the process and, more recently, a thorough tune up and mechanical maintenance. The Plymouth runs and drives well, with a modern front disc-brake conversion. ExteriorBeautiful Cream White Paint is complemented by factory Plymouth chrome accent pieces, only available on the DeLuxe Models. This includes the chrome exhaust tip accent which is rare to see still on the car today. Engine and TransmissionThe factory 201.3-cubic-inch engine has been rebuilt to original specifications. For 1936, this engine, fed by a single-barrel Carter carburetor and featuring a 6.7:1 compression ratio, was rated by the factory at 82 horsepower. The car starts readily with the choke pulled and idles quietly with no smoke and no leaks. This Plymouth still feature six-volt electricals. The sliding-gear, three-speed transmission shifts with no issues. Wheels and SuspensionThis Plymouth has recently received a suspension refresh and upgrade. The factory front brake drums have been replaced with a Disc-Brake conversion. New front leaf-springs were installed, the wheels were refinished and wrapped with modern Coker White-Wall tires. While plenty of 1930s cars have been given the hot-rod treatment, this 1936 Plymouth P2 brings an authenticity unavailable in a custom, a testament to the solid engineering that went into its creation 84 years ago.
