1979 Pontiac Trans Am

Pontiac Trans Am. With performance upgraded power train, the way it should have been.Rebuild 455 CID engine with cam and headers, mated to rebuilt 200R4 overdrive automatic transmission, running through a 342:1 posi-traction rear axle.A great combination of acceleration and high speed cruising, like a modern day muscle car.Dark blue metallic paint, highlighted by gold die cut "Bandit" striping, on gold anodized snowflake wheels.Functioning power windows, cold air conditioning, and modern Sony radio with AM/FM, CD, USB port, and AUX input, for driver comfort.A beautiful example of an upgraded and restored 1970's iconic muscle car, that is reliable and comfortable.

The Pontiac 455 block is 2 bolt mains, and the heads are 6X, 4s, using a high lift cam and Rhoades valve lifters and springs. The transmission is a rebuild 200R4 automatic, using heavy duty clutches and servo from the Buick Grand National. Exhaust is through long tube headers reduced to 2 inch pipes through 2 separate mufflers before the rear axle and then tailpipes to the back of the car. No catalytic converters presently.

I am the original owner of the car in Toronto Canada, and it has never been winter driven, and garaged the rest of the time. It has been rustproofed several times with a petroleum compound so that the underside and trunk look quite dirty as a result, but the metal underneath is well preserved. The car was repainted in base clear about 7 years ago, and is still in new condition.

The interior is original, with no visible wear or rips on the hobnail upholstery. There is no rips or cracks on any of the vinyl including dash, door panels and arm rests. It does however need a new Headliner, about $100.00 from NPD.

Price $ 17,900 USD
