Shelby GT 350 Convertible. This 1966 Shelby Mustang GT350 is one of 12 convertibles built as part of a continuation series produced by Carroll Shelby and Beverly Hills Mustang owner J. Brunk between 1980 and 1982, and is one of four examples sold to members of the general public. Chassis 6S2389 is finished in Wimbledon White with blue Le Mans stripes and a dark blue convertible power top, power steering, am/fm radio, over a white Pony interior, and is said to be the sole example optioned with a Paxton supercharger. It was ordered by a Seattle, Washington couple and remained with them until 1995. The car was then retained by a dealer until 2012, when it joined the current owner's private collection in Idaho. Power is provided by a 289ci HiPo V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, and both the engine and supercharger were rebuilt in 2014. This continuation GT350 was driven by the current owner in 2014 Sun Valley Road Rally, with a copy of the original purchase contract and specifications sheet, a 1982 Washington inspection form, 1995 correspondence from an S Shelby, records from the 2014 engine rebuild..The 289ci V8 is one of 12 new-old-stock engines reportedly sourced by Carroll Shelby from Ford during the continuation project. A Paxton supercharger, which was an option for 1966 GT350s, is specified on the Shelby build sheet for this example. The engine was overhauled in 2014 by Paradise Wheels in San Marcos, California, with the supercharger also rebuilt at that time. Work included machining the block and boring the cylinders to .040 over, installing new bottom-end bearings and ARP head studs, and replacing the water pump, fuel pump, and more as outlined on the invoice..
