1967 Shelby GT500

Shelby GT500 . Shelby No. 01211. Completed 4/22/1967 and shipped 7/31/1967 to Reynolds Motors, Inc in Syracuse, NY. Purchased 10/26/1967 by original owner Sandra Clark. Sandra and her husband needed a co-signer to get the car, Sandra?s father. After putting around 27,500 miles on it, around 1969 Sandra and her husband split, leaving the co-signor with this Shelby. The car was tucked away and sat for 30+ years until the second owner, M. Williams obtained the car and spent $200k+ to put the car through a complete rotisserie restoration to bring it back to its former glory that was completed in 2002. Every body panel and piece of glass (minus windshield) is original to the car, as well as a majority of the nuts and bolts that came from the San Jose, CA plant. Wood grain steering wheel, AM/FM radio, factory roll bar and factory FoMoCo/Cobra seatbelts. Since it?s restoration in 2002, this Shelby has only had 600 miles since added to the dash. Currently sitting at just over 28,200 miles with me, the 3rd owner. The underside of the car looks as if I would from the factory, sporting the red primer and very clean. This is a numbers matching, registered Shelby. This car has been so well preserved, the numerical stamps are still present and visible on either side of the engine bay. Both sets of original keys as well as the circular slug with ?record and destroy etched in have been kept with the car. Matched with the complete Marti Report (?05), Shelby No. 01211 was 1 of 2,048 Shelby GT500?s ordered that year, and 1 of only 29 1967 Fastbacks to combine the Wimbledon white and factory blue racing stripes paired the Parchment white interior, which also features the foldable rear seats. This car has had a clean owner/road history since the day it was born in 1967, and I can confidently say that this is one of the cleanest Shelby?s that I?ve been able to come across. Market comparison: At recent auctions in 2022, moderately comparable Shelby?s have been selling upwards of $440,000 with older restorations, much higher miles, longer owner list and several decades of unknowns, and with the more common black interior. Compared to Shelby No. 01211, which has a newer rotisserie resto, very low miles, only 3 owners and no unknowns, and of course with the rare parchment white interior. * Shelby no. 01211* Delivered new to Reynolds Motors (Syracuse, NY)* Spare keys and key# slug* Three owner car* Approximately 600 miles on no expense spared restoration completed by second owner in 2002* Original sheet metal and drivetrain* Original matching numbers 428 Police Interceptor engine* Dual 600 CFM 4-barrel carburetors* Toploader 4-speed transmission* Wimbledon White with Blue stripes* Original parchment white interior * Inboard fog lamps* Thermactor exhaust system ordered but removed by Shelby American before delivery * Marti Report * MagStar wheels This car was marketed for sale once in 2005 by the second owner, and never again until now.
